We at Musashino University are very pleased and honored to welcome our friends and colleagues from around the around as we host the 12^th Biennial Conference of the International Association of Shin Buddhist Association. Over the course of your past conferences, you have met in Kyoto, Berkeley, Calgary and Honolulu. Now you have brought your association meeting to Tokyo, and we are proud to be able to make that possible. So, please join us in Tokyo.

Our founder, Dr. Junjiro Takakusu, would be extremely pleased with your presence on this campus, for his life was dedicated to Buddhist studies and education, particularly in the international context. We like to regard this conference as part of our university’s effort to broaden our Buddhist Studies program with, for example, the strengthening of the graduate program. Thank you for being a part.

May the findings of your research shared at this meeting contribute to the advancement of your field and ultimately to the greater welfare of our communities and the world. Best wishes to each of you, and may your stay in Tokyo be enjoyable and enlightening.

Paper Presentation Guidelines 研究発表要項

We welcome papers on topics related to Shin and Pure Land Buddhism from a broad range of approaches: history, sociology, philology, philosophy, psychology, theology, etc.　発表は、真宗及び浄土教（広い意味での）に関するものをお願い致します。

We welcome presentations of two types:

1) Individual papers: Presenter submits a paper topic of one’s choosing. The conference committee will then group them into panels comprised of papers of related topics. Each presenter is given 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for question and answer.

2) Organized panels: A group of presenters organizes a panel on a particular topic. The chair takes the responsibility to submit the names of the presenters and paper titles. Each panel will be allotted 1hour 30 minutes (90 minutes), with 3-4 presenters and/or respondents.

今回の大会では、初めて日本語でも発表できるように致しましたが、この学会の伝統に沿って、なるべく、英語での発表をお願いしたいと思います。
